Hullabaloo's One Year Anniversary!! Enter for a $60 Giveaway!

I am so proud to announce October 11th is Hullabaloo's official anniversary! It has been a tremendous year for me with lots and lots of hard work, sacrifice and help from friends and family. I have met many of the goals I have set in place for my self last year and even exceeded some. I have learned many new techniques for sewing, learned how to finally follow a pattern, met some fantastic women through joining etsy teams like Fabulous Artisitc Moms. etsykids and trendy textiles. I entered a Handmade Children's Design contest and was picked from an expert panel of judge's from Parent's Magazine for the top 40 finalists! From there I made it to 5th place from votes from the etsy community!! You should have seen me during the contest! I was absolutely beaming! Even though I did not win, I was still completely flattered to even been picked from Parent's Magazine!! What an accomplishment :) I learned how to create a treasury (http://74.125.45.104/search?q=cache:FV7V5HFkbIMJ:januarywish.blogspot.com/2008/09/fairytale-stories.html+hullabalooboutique&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=123&gl=us) and even started a series which has a small following, lol. In December, I will have an ad on the SECOND page of Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion! Hmmm, I know there is more but I will get on with it and tell you about my fantastic GIVEAWAY!!!

Who doesn't love a plushie??

Stop buying stuffed animals from major retailers!! You can get one of a kind Plushies at etsy and support local artists! None of the other kids are going to have one like it. I absolutely love the variety on etsy.

Boys line now at Hullabaloo

Had to add this picture of my newest model (my son, of course) Jack. His smile cracks me up!

I can't wait to show everyone what I am working on for the fall. My boys line is going to rock. I'll give you a sneak peek when I complete my first design.
If you have any ideas or have something you would like to see added to my line, let me know.

My Current Project for my fall line

This dress is a bit unlike what I usually create but I love the fabrics, khaki poplin for sleeves and a heavy weight linen for the bodice (not sure of color). Of course, I had to funk it up a bit so I pinned a few birds and flowers to the bodice and added a red babywhale corduroy
sash to the empire waist.
The birds will most likely be handstitched (blanketstitch) as well as the flowers. I think at the hem I will add another blanket stitch in red.
Would love to know your thoughts thus far...

Day at the Beach

Aubrielle LOVES the beach! Especially going in the water with daddy.

Jack's very first trip to the beach!
He loved playing in the sand but certainly didn't care for the waves.

Jack loves his big brother!

DH, eating, once again! Why is it most of the pictures I take of John, he's usually eating? I don't even do it on purpose.

Ok, Ok, I haven't featured another artist

But, I plan to resume soon. In the meantime, I am working on different ideas for my blog and trying to get organized across the board. Please take a look at the many wonderful links I have collected for various etsy shops. If you feel your shop fits the general theme of my blog, contact me and I may add your link.

More Children's Art Coming

Check back later in the day for a few more featured artists. Here's a sneak peek...

Art for little girls' rooms

One of my favorite items to buy on etsy is art for my daughter's room. There is such a plethora of stunning work on etsy. I wanted to share some work with you.
Some I own, some I wish to own.

Here is an artist whose paintings I could fill my walls with. My absolute favorite!

Another very talented artist.

Here are a few I own. They look amazing matted and framed in white.

Now look at them

Here is Queen Kong with her new pet caterpillar. She decided to make it a home in her plastic pot. SHe even decorated it with flowers. I caught her upstairs with it and asked her what she was doing. She said she was showing "fuzzy" her room.

This is jack after a half hour of photographing the girls.
He was sick of it already! I can't blame him.

Oh, my little Sweeties are growing up way to fast. I don't look at their baby pictures often enough. I look at that picture and am taken back. I barely remember my son being that little! It was just over a year ago. I can't imagine looking at those pictures 10 years from now.
